That’s actually a good point about focusing on niche-relevant directories instead of just spamming links everywhere. I always get confused though — do these free listings really make a big difference in SEO or is it just one of those “do it because everyone else does” kind of things? On a side note, I was working with html 2 canvas recently for a small project, and it made me think how handy it would be to actually capture and save a visual record of where all the listings are posted. Might be easier to track progress that way instead of relying only on spreadsheets.
